If you’ve watched any of Jack’s videos you will see CUSO’S DIRT™ Barbecue Rub used in many of them. It is the original rub that appeared, and which Jack feels is essential to any barbeque kit.
What makes dirt black? It’s activated charcoal, which looks amazing on steak. If you’ve ever seen black ice cream, that’s the activated charcoal! You can use this with everything, not just beef. You can also add it to things like mustard and mayonnaise as a binding agent. Inject it with oil under spatchcock chicken skin.
Ingredients: Kosher Salt, Sugar, Garlic, Chili Powder, Paprika, Onion, Black Pepper, Rosemary, Activated Charcoal, Thyme.
This has become my go-to rub. So good on steaks. I have been using the dirt and dust together and they are both great. I love that they are on the lower sodium side so you can’t really overdo them. Great products !
Nothing but Dirt… crushed it. Great on Brisket and Ribs.
I use this rub on every one of my steaks. Blackens it for a crisp char with limited flavor for those of you that like the classic salt and pepper, you can keep that staple flavor and impress your friends with a blackened steak that makes that medium rare steak POP. 5 stars.
Dirt is honestly so good it give a great bark on brisket 10 out of 10
